The workshop "Chat with femtech founders 2" that took place yesterday afternoon received participation and support from managers, experts in the field of healthcare, as well as talented young individuals. The event was an opportunity for attendees and speaker - Ms. Jessica de Mesa-Lim to openly share about her entrepreneurial journey, stories about the femtech market, and more specifically, innovation in women's health care.
The Workshop opened with Jessica's personal experiences about her startup story. 15 years of experience in many fields such as healthcare, e-commerce, and strategic partnerships to healthcare provided a solid foundation for her to start Kindred. Jessica offered 5 key notes for anyone who wants to start a business in the femtech field, especially regarding raising capital. She also noted that the Asian femtech market is still new and has many gaps that need to be filled. This presents a significant opportunity for femtech startups.
In addition, a very new topic was also raised at the discussion session: Innovation in women's health care. When asked why young people should join this field, Jessica commented that this is an area with many opportunities. First of all, since it's new, it creates potential for development in innovation in women's health care. Take Kindred for example, they are not only innovating in terms of telehealth (remote health care) but also the hybrid care model. Jessica believes that, with the creative capacity of young people, they will easily exploit other aspects of femtech and come up with more innovative solutions in the future.
