LIF Global Việt Nam in 2026 journey

After four intensive days of work in Hanoi, the LIF Global Vietnam 2026 program has officially come to a close. More than a series of training sessions or networking activities, the program became a transformative journey—one in which innovators began to shift their perspective from laboratory-based research toward market-driven impact and real-world application.

From the very beginning, the program focused on a fundamental question: what is the real problem in the market, and how can technology meaningfully address it? Instead of starting with existing solutions, participants were encouraged to rethink their research through a market-oriented lens, recognizing that value lies not in technological complexity, but in the ability to create tangible benefits for businesses and communities.

By the third day, the program reached a critical turning point, where technology began to “touch” the market. Innovators were not only introduced to business models but were also challenged to critically deconstruct their own—revisiting assumptions about customers, value propositions, distribution channels, and long-term strategies. Many came to realize that strong technology alone is not enough to create a viable product. Scientific value must be translated into the language of the market, and business models must align with strategic pathways such as licensing, spin-offs, or scalable ventures.

These insights became even more evident during the Business Simulation Challenge, where teams were required to make decisions under uncertainty, balance trade-offs, and respond to unexpected changes. It was in this environment that the gap between theory and practice narrowed, and participants recognized how small decisions can significantly influence the trajectory of a startup.

A highlight of the program was the field engagement with Shanam Tea—an enterprise deeply rooted in local heritage. Within the quiet space of aged tea cakes, the discussion extended far beyond the product itself. It raised a critical question: how can traditional value be preserved while enhancing market value in a global context? Through the perspectives of nine innovators from diverse disciplines, a systemic picture emerged. The core bottleneck was not the product, but the lack of a robust data system to validate, track, and communicate its value to the market.

In this context, digital transformation was no longer seen as a supporting tool, but as a strategic foundation. From blockchain-enabled traceability and AI-driven data analysis to scientific validation and storytelling, the integration of technology, culture, and business models revealed new pathways for growth. The session demonstrated how the right combination of these elements can unlock entirely new opportunities for local enterprises.

The final day marked a significant shift in mindset among the innovators. Beyond refining their technologies, they began to view their research as solutions with commercialization potential. A shared understanding emerged: commercialization is not a subsequent step after research—it must be embedded from the very beginning. This shift also sets the stage for the next phase of the journey, as participants prepare to travel to the United Kingdom in July 2026 to test their business models, build international partnerships, and position Vietnamese innovations on the global stage.

Throughout this journey, KisStartup played a central role not only as the implementing partner in Vietnam, but as a key ecosystem connector. By leveraging its extensive network of businesses, investors, and international partners, KisStartup enabled innovators to access markets, refine their business strategies, and explore commercialization pathways. Importantly, this support does not end with the program. Continued engagement will be provided through initiatives such as IDAP, TechBloom, KisImpact, and Dhomes, creating opportunities for piloting, collaboration, and market entry into Europe.

While 2026 marks the final year of LIF Global globally, the impact of the program continues to evolve. In Vietnam, its methodologies, networks, and innovation-to-market approach are being carried forward and adapted to local contexts. A new direction is emerging—one that strengthens connections between Vietnam, the United Kingdom, and Europe, while building sustainable commercialization models tailored to regional realities.

LIF Global Vietnam 2026 may have concluded, but it has also given rise to a new generation of innovators—individuals who not only conduct research, but are ready to commercialize, create impact, and engage with global markets. KisStartup is proud to be part of this journey and remains committed to connecting, enabling, and supporting Vietnamese innovations as they move forward onto the world stage.
