Workshop: Chat with Femtech founders No.1 Recap - Highlights of the event
At the Workshop “Chat with Femtech founders 1" held on March 21 with the participation of Sastya Wardani - CEO & Co-founder of Plans. Attention revolved around three topics: what inspired Sastya to found Plans, Femtech's entrepreneurial journey and the business's expansion plans in the Southeast Asian market.
When talking about the reason for choosing Femtech, Sastya told the story of her own grandfather - Prof. Dr. FG Winarno. 60 years ago in Indonesia, he had to remove his mother’s malignant breast cancer in his garage while he was studying to be a vet, due to access and economic conditions. The removal ended up successful, but the experience left him with serious trauma. At present, Sastya observes that there are still not enough resources for women's health management, especially reproduction when 85% of women do not understand their reproductive health. Powered by AI, Plans connects women and health professionals based on customer hormone data with a vision for better family planning and helping women take control of their reproductive health.
Also at the event, Sastya said that Femtech startups have similarities and differences with other fields. What they all have in common is the loneliness that comes with irregular working hours. Through a presentation about the entrepreneurial journey with Plans, Sastya proposed a method of analyzing teams based on 4 factors: Education, flexibility, community and collaboration. Besides paying attention to the educational background of its members, businesses themselves need to create a learning environment to stimulate creativity and retain capable employees. Plans' experience in the Indonesian market highlights the importance of team innovation, which is also a sustainable direction for Vietnamese businesses. Each individual is also learning and developing over time with the business. Therefore, leaders need to "honor" mistakes and promote each employee's strengths.
In the near future, Plans is planning to expand its market in Malaysia and Thailand. According to Sastya, the Vietnamese market is very open to international Femtech partners as well as domestic technologies. The common characteristics of the Southeast Asian market are cultural similarities and greater attention to women's health.
KisStartup would like to sincerely thank Sastya Wardani - CEO & Co-founder Plans as well as all the participants in the Workshop: Chat with the founder of Femtech 1 for taking the time to participate and support the program.
