Although in many advanced countries, R&D and innovation are considered key drivers of growth, in Vietnam, funding for research often remains confined within the laboratory. As a result, products struggle to complete the journey to market (from lab to biz) or to be widely adopted in real life. Why does this situation persist? Are current mechanisms truly aligned with the nature of scientific research and startups? And what changes are needed to better nurture and grow innovation projects?
At the upcoming roundtable “Funding for R&D and Innovation: International Practices and Vietnam’s Realities” organized by Tia Sáng, experienced experts, businesses, and policymakers will revisit effective international funding models, compare them with the domestic context, and offer practical recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of funding in these fields.
